“By escalating the situation and carrying out terrorist shelling of Ukrainian cities, russia must understand that it cannot avoid paying compensation for damages. As of today, the International Register of Damage for Ukraine (RD4U) has opened all 43 categories of claims for compensation for losses, damage, or harm caused by russia's aggression against Ukraine since February 24, 2022”, - said Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on his Telegram channel on September 30.
“The Register has already received 195,000 claims, more than 65,000 of which have already been entered, while the rest are still being processed. From now on, we have a complete system for documenting the damage caused by the aggressor: from personal losses and destroyed housing to losses suffered by businesses, the state, and the environment”, - Budanov noted.
“The next steps are the full launch of the International Claims Commission and the establishment of a Compensation Fund, from which payments will be made. Russia deliberately caused this destruction, and it will pay for it”, - the Head of the Office of the President emphasized.
