Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with The New York Times that the resumption of talks with russia on ending the war, mediated by the U.S. administration, is expected in late September, that is, after the State Duma elections in russia and more than a month before the U.S. congressional midterm elections, “The Moscow Times” Telegram channel reported on September 4.
According to Budanov, the negotiating process will resume with a visit by U.S. President’s representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Kyiv, where they have never been, unlike moscow. They will visit the capitals of Ukraine and russia this weekend, Axios reported, citing US officials. According to the latter, talks with vladimir putin will take place in moscow on Saturday, while talks with Volodymyr Zelensky will take place in Kyiv on Sunday.
