elegates of the II World Congress of the Pentecostal demand immediate release religious scholar Igor Kozlovsky from captivity in the "DPR". It is stated in their appeal to the authorities and the public, - reports Religious Information Service of Ukraine.

"We, members of Congress from different countries and continents of the world, call to make every possible effort to liberate Kozlovsky I. in the near future. We ask everyone to continue praying for the man's life to be saved and him to return to his family. We are convinced that the joint efforts of friends, colleagues and all people of goodwill will be able to save his family, science and humanity, so that the scientist in the future could uphold the principles of justice, dignity and peaceful coexistence of churches and religious organizations," - said the participants of the Congress.

"Igor Kozlovsky is a well-known scholar in the Ukrainian scientific community and abroad, author of over 50 scientific books, 200 articles in dictionaries, encyclopaedias and periodicals. He lives in Donetsk together with his handicapped son, whom he has been looking after for 16 years (he’s got Down syndrome and broken spine). Because of his father's arrest, the life of his son was under threat," -. the statement reads.

As previously reported, in January 2016 well-known scientist-theologian, president of the Center for Teaching Religion Studies and International Spiritual Relations Igor Kozlovsky was detained in occupied Donetsk.

Two days later, his wife filed for international organizations - the UN, the Red Cross and the OSCE. However, he is still in a prison in occupied Donetsk.

Later it was reported that he was accused of forming an armed gang, engaged in the killings.

Pentecostal World Congress began on October 6th and lasted until October 9th, 2016 in Lviv.
