"What I did not manage to accomplish was completing the organizational transformation of the Ministry of Defense in line with NATO standards and common sense. We launched the new structure, dismissed many people, and initiated numerous processes. But we should have been even more decisive in dismissing those who were slowing down the changes", - Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov wrote on social media on July 15, confirming his resignation.

According to him, he also failed to move all procurement entirely to competitive tenders and to "build a culture of accountability for decisions made".

"I believe that it is the heroic Ukrainian people who will shape this institutional culture. Thank you to every man and woman defending Ukraine and working for victory. Thank you to my entire team for your effective service 24/7. I would also like to thank my family for their patience. Thank you all for your support! I will continue working toward the mission that brought me to the Ministry of Defense in the first place—to defeat the enemy through asymmetry, the speed of innovation, and the strength of organization. To be continued", - Fedorov also wrote.
