"Today's meeting showed that we have a shared compass. It is aimed at achieving peace for Ukraine and security for Europe. Ukraine is ready to end the war. It has always been ready. We are also open to peace negotiations between Ukraine and russia with the support of Europe and the United States. Now everything depends solely on putin — whether he will seize this opportunity", - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said after the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
Merz emphasized that until then, Germany would continue increasing pressure on moscow. Berlin will also maintain close cooperation with its partners within the Coalition of the Willing.
"Above all, we will continue to stand firmly with Ukraine. Once again, we are doing this for the sake of freedom, which tomorrow we will celebrate here in Paris together with our French neighbors and friends. We are doing this for the sake of freedom throughout Europe", - he said.
