“On June 18, within the framework of repatriation measures in Ukraine as part of the ‘ON THE SHIELD’ operation, 522 bodies (remains) were returned, which, according to the russian side, belong to Ukrainian defenders”, - the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
As noted, an equally important stage of work begins next — the transportation of the repatriated bodies, which is ensured by the forces and resources of the Joint Center for Support of Activities of the Civil-Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“After this, all necessary expert examinations and identification procedures will be carried out. Each identified name is an opportunity for relatives to finally receive answers, bring their defender home, and properly honor their memory. Eternal memory to the fallen defenders and defenders of Ukraine. Sincere condolences to their families and loved ones”, - the General Staff emphasized.
