Ukraine is increasing its responses to all russian strikes. Over recent months, russia has lost 10% of its oil refining capacity. This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address to Ukrainians on May 18.
The head of state added that russian oil companies are being forced to shut down wells.
“The nature of russian oil extraction is such that this is what hurts them the most. Of course, aside from the loss of money. To restore production at wells, russia needs to do significantly more than many other oil-producing countries that mothball wells even in response to simple market fluctuations. russians cannot do that. For them, the loss of production is truly very painful”, - Zelensky noted.
He also added that Russia’s total state revenues, due to pressure from Ukraine, have reached a much larger deficit in five months than they had planned for the entire year.
“Right now, they already have a significant number of regions in a state of bankruptcy, and putin is leading russia toward bankruptcy. And the various schemes they come up with to earn money will not help them. We see these russian schemes, we are tracking them. We will break them”, - the president stated.
