The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kiev Svetlana Volkova for violation of oath, - reports the correspondent of OstroV.

235 MPs voted for the dismissal of Volkova.

As previously reported, judge Volkova made the decision in violation of the oath in 2014  to release from custody the former commander of the Berkut "black company" Dmitry Sadovnik. The commando, involved in mass killings in Maidan, fled from Ukraine when he was released.

As reported by OstroV, an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is taking place in Kiev.

The agenda includes one question the dismissal of judges.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko asked the head of the Ukrainian Parliament to convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada before September 30th  and to bring in the issue of dismissal of judges on the agenda.

"It is necessary to dismiss for violation of oath the judges in respect of whom the submission was filed to the Supreme Council of Justice, including those involved in the illegal arrest of Maidan activists," - said Poroshenko.
