Russia wants to deploy another 20 thousand troops in Ukraine to prepare a new spring-summer offensive in the southeast of the country, said Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi in an interview with the Financial Times, reports Hromadske.
According to Skibitskyi, the increase in missile and drone attacks by russia and the destruction of critical infrastructure are part of the preparation for a spring-summer offensive in southeastern Ukraine.
In addition, russia also intends to deploy about 20 thousand more of its troops in Ukraine, bringing their total number to over 680 thousand. Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine believes that the russian federation wants to capture the entire Donbas by September 2026.
