“There are buses, but no drivers”, - this is how the so-called “minister of transport” Andrei Nikitin described the situation with passenger transportation in the "LNR".

He acknowledged a significant staff shortage, which does not allow full use of the available fleet.

“About 730 new buses have been delivered to the LNR, but in some municipalities it is impossible to put them on routes for months — there are no drivers”, - Nikitin told local journalists. According to him, drivers are there “when possible” and “depending on the budget” and encouraged to take jobs with promises of higher wages and the provision of housing.

According to the “minister”, they will be issued “Honored Transport Worker” badges through a simplified procedure, and in the future will be awarded the title “Veteran of Labor”.

As reported, in the "DNR" they also acknowledged the fact of a critical shortage of public transport drivers.
