"The russians are attacking infrastructure facilities. The consequences of the attack are being established", - reported the head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram at 4:18 a.m. on February 26.
"One of the city’s shopping malls was also affected", - he wrote at 4:22 a.m.
A few minutes later, a report appeared about a fire at another mall as a result of the enemy attack.
"Several floors of a damaged high-rise building are on fire. A person is trapped in one of the apartments. Preliminary reports indicate that 12 enemy strikes were carried out on the city. At the moment, 6 injured are known. All have received the necessary assistance. One man has been hospitalized", - it was reported as of 5:27 a.m.
Later, Fedorov reported that the number of injured is growing — another woman sought medical assistance.
As of 6:50 a.m., the situation in Zaporizhzhia is as follows: 19 apartment buildings, four private houses, and non-residential buildings were damaged. Heat supply is absent in more than 500 buildings in three districts of the city. Utility workers have begun liquidation work — they are covering windows with OSB sheets in apartment buildings.
