U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office on June 5, stated that he would not order the withdrawal of American troops from German territory. This was reported by the Telegram channel “DW Glavnoe”.
Trump called Germany’s planned increase in defense spending a “positive step” and referred to Merz as a “magnificent chancellor”.
The U.S. President also emphasized that he considers Friedrich Merz his ally in the matter of ending the war in Ukraine.
“Russian president vladimir putin wants to take all of Ukraine, but that’s not going to happen”, - the head of the White House stated.
