President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Valerii Zaluzhny as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by his decree No. 316/2024 dated May 9th. The decree was published on the official website of the head of state on May 9th.
"The decree states: 'To appoint Valerii Zaluzhny as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'".
It was previously reported that Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny from military service "due to health reasons".
It was also reported earlier that before his appointment as ambassador to the United Kingdom, Zaluzhny underwent a medical examination board and was found unfit for military service.
