In the occupied Donetsk, the chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod, Oleg Lavrichev, was detained for embezzlement, possibly of humanitarian aid, reports russian publication Kommersant.

According to Kommersant, sources say that he is accused of embezzlement of property committed by an organized group on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the russian federation).

The Nizhny Novgorod City Duma stated that they have no information about the detention of Lavrichev, as they have lost contact with him.

On April 27, Lavrichev announced on his Telegram that he was in the occupied Donetsk, where he was awaiting the arrival of a humanitarian convoy from the "Nizhny Novgorod Militia - 2022".

The Nizhny Novgorod official said he met with his fellow countryman Andrey Chertkov, who was sent by the kremlin to the occupied Donbas as the "Deputy Prime Minister of the DNR government". There is no information about the meeting with Lavrichev in Chertkov's Telegram channel.
