The United States Congress, where a $61.4 billion aid package for Ukraine has been stuck since the fall, may approve it by late March to early April. This information comes from a Telegram channel, The Moscow Times, citing CNN.

According to CNN sources, the support for Kyiv will be included in the legislation for a new budget, which House Speaker Mike Johnson is preparing to bring to a vote.

Before this, the speaker "derailed" the approval of two budget proposals put forward by the Democrats. However, as sources note, Johnson held a private meeting with Republican members of the lower house who are advocating for a new bipartisan project, including assistance to Israel and Ukraine. The speaker did not take a position on the plan but urged its refinement for a vote.

At the same time, according to CNN sources, Johnson is risking bringing the legislation to a vote. Extreme right-wing members of the House, supporters of former President Donald Trump, may vote for his removal from the position of speaker. Additionally, left-wing Democrats who are not eager to allocate additional funds to Israel may not support the initiative.
